Carrying on with the good cause

For the last year, Lancashire Youth Challenge has been one of the Co-op’s Community Good Causes. A scheme where Co-op members can choose a charity of their choice to receive much needed financial support.

To date, we have managed to raise nearly £2,000 from local people choosing us as one of their causes.

Membership that makes a difference
If you choose to become a Co-op member, when you buy selected products and services, 2p for every £1 goes into your membership account. At the same time the Co-op gives the same amount to support community organisations and local causes.

The great thing is that they have now committed to doubling the amount given to chosen communities when members choose Co-op; and members are continually raising money to support thousands of local community causes across the UK, including Lancashire Youth Challenge.

Why Lancashire Youth Challenge?
A dynamic charity that enables young people to build confidence and resilience via an exciting year-round programme, funding from these schemes are immensely valuable as they allow us to bring deeper and richer experiences to more young people living in Morecambe, Heysham and Lancaster.

Money from the Co-op scheme will continue to support;

  • weekly participatory mental and physical wellbeing workshops,
  • outdoor education residentials, and;
  • our annual outdoor BIG challenge expedition

Help out now
We are excited to announce that we have been picked as one of the Co-op’s Community Good Causes for a second year. This fantastic news comes at a time when many local charities face significant challenges, impacting the delivery of vital on the ground activities that young people rely on to help them develop the skills they need to succeed in life.
