Donna Coleman – Trustee

Donna is an experienced youth worker who specialises in using theatre and arts practice as a powerful tool for enabling young people to find their voice, develop confidence and make comment on their world.

Donna trained as an actor and spent many years acting in scripted and devised productions that explored real-life stories relevant to young people. It was through this work that Donna gained a real enthusiasm for working with children & young people, as well as adults with learning difficulties. Donna has been doing this line of work for over 15 years and has gained a wealth of expertise – with training in Mental Health First Aid, Resilience Training for those with Adverse Childhood Experiences, and is currently working for 20 Stories High as the Youth Worker & Designated Safeguarding Officer.

In her spare time, Donna is currently working on a one-woman show based on her own life experiences. Donna likes collecting miniature things and loves her cat Jess. Donna first got involved with LYC by volunteering on the the 2019 Hadrian’s Wall Challenge and loved every minute.
