Joshua Lightbown – Trustee & Peer Mentor

Joshua Lightbown has been involved with Lancashire Youth Challenge for over 5 years as a participant as well as a Peer Mentor. Josh first started with LYC in 2015 and has completed several challenges as well as attending fitness training and mentoring sessions.

As Josh’s LYC programme came to an end he was able to ready himself for work and get an apprenticeship as a Warehouse Apprentice. He was able to further his skillset by completing the youth mentoring programme with LYC, providing him with an insight into what is required to be a mentor.

As a Peer Mentor he has attended challenges and weekly sessions, supporting the young people as well as talking to them and sharing his knowledge and experience of being a participant at LYC.

He has now been able to use the skills he has obtained to further his career after his apprenticeship to become a Production Technician. Josh is extremely excited about joining the Lancashire Youth Challenge board and being able to help run the charity that he has been part of for so many years.
