We are seeking new Trustees to join our award-winning charity!

Lancashire Youth Challenge

We empower, enable, and inspire young people to make meaningful positive change in their lives and the wider community via a holistic, person centred programme of participatory activity and learning. Our programme ensures participants develop new skills, build confidence and resilience, and begin to feel optimistic and capable of entering training, further education, and employment to shape the lives they wish to lead. Our approach is strength and asset-based, recognising that all young people have the potential to achieve personal success and gain new skills when given an equitable opportunity, focused encouragement, and high-quality training.

Our Ambition

Between 2022 and 2025 we aspire to:

  • Collaborate with exemplary practitioners to provide an annual programme of high quality participatory outdoor activities, fitness & emotional wellbeing sessions, creative & cultural education projects and life skills courses for working class young people in Lancaster, Morecambe, Preston, and South Ribble.
  • Strengthen our position as a regional leader of high-quality Youth practice.
  • Become financially robust, resilient, and less reliant on public subsidy.

To help us realise our ambitions we are seeking trustees with diverse lived experiences to help us build new relationships with social, public, and private sector organisations, extend our networks, and secure funding.

  • Offer strategic support to our Chief Executive Officer on the development and delivery of our business plan

  • Support the development of robust fundraising strategies
